See It in Action
Throughout October, Azusa officers wear the same pink patches on their patrol uniforms that are offered for purchase. It’s a visual symbol of solidarity with those fighting breast cancer and a reminder of the department’s commitment to community causes.
We thank our residents for supporting this initiative and for joining us in the mission to promote health, healing, and hope.
On behalf of Chief Rocky Wenrick and the men and women of the Azusa Police Department — thank you for your continued support.
Preparing for Real-World Challenges
We believe that training should reflect the realities officers face every day. From de-escalation and crisis response to weapons proficiency and defensive tactics, our programs are designed to prepare officers for high-stress situations with clarity and control. Officers receive continuing education in critical areas like active shooter response, use-of-force protocols, off-duty readiness, and weapon malfunction drills—ensuring that when it matters most, they’re ready.
The department’s force training program is nationally recognized for its use of Krav Maga and its ongoing commitment to safe, effective arrest control techniques. We also emphasize pursuit safety and emergency vehicle operation through biannual training at the San Bernardino Emergency Vehicle Operations Center.

Modern Policing with a Community Mission
The Azusa Police Department consists of 55 sworn police officers and 28 civilian professionals, working together to provide 24/7 public safety services throughout the city. Officers are assigned to essential units such as Patrol, Traffic, and the Detective Bureau, and many also take on specialized responsibilities that support public outreach, training, and advanced response. Our department includes officers with expertise in areas such as gang intervention, field training, school resource programs, crisis response, emergency management, and digital communications. Civilian personnel support operations through records management, dispatch, administration, and community coordination. As Azusa grows, our department continues to evolve—investing in professional development, advanced technology, and neighborhood-based policing strategies that reflect the needs and values of our residents.
