Azusa Police Department
Community-Focused Law Enforcement in California

The Canyon City We’re Proud to Serve
The City of Azusa, known as The Canyon City, is located just 24 miles northeast of Los Angeles at the entrance to the San Gabriel Mountains. Home to nearly 50,000 residents, Azusa is a diverse and growing community with a strong sense of identity. As the official law enforcement agency for the City of Azusa, our department is proud to serve a city that values community, education, and cultural heritage. With a median age of 29, a majority Hispanic population, and institutions like Azusa Pacific University and Dhammakaya Open University, Azusa blends youthful energy with deep-rooted tradition. The Azusa Police Department works closely with the community, schools, and local organizations to keep Azusa safe, connected, and thriving.

Modern Policing with a Community Mission
The Azusa Police Department consists of 55 sworn police officers and 28 civilian professionals, working together to provide 24/7 public safety services throughout the city. Officers are assigned to essential units such as Patrol, Traffic, and the Detective Bureau, and many also take on specialized responsibilities that support public outreach, training, and advanced response. Our department includes officers with expertise in areas such as gang intervention, field training, school resource programs, crisis response, emergency management, and digital communications. Civilian personnel support operations through records management, dispatch, administration, and community coordination. As Azusa grows, our department continues to evolve—investing in professional development, advanced technology, and neighborhood-based policing strategies that reflect the needs and values of our residents.
